Iowa Private School Wins Grant for Rocketry Project

Written by Maharishi School | November 1, 2017

The Maharishi School Rocketry Team has earned a $1,500 grant from the Alliant Energy Foundation, which will go towards the design, construction, and rocket flight expenses for the team's Team America Rocketry Challenge entry.  Maharishi School is offering both TARC Rocketry and NASA Student Launch Rocketry Teams through our project-based learning curriculum this year.

Last year the team placed fourth out of 829 entries, and are looking forward to competing again this season.

Rocketry team coach Rick Rudloff is grateful for the community support, explaining, "we are very excited to have a major company in the area sponsor our team's TARC projects."

In addition to the Alliant Energy Foundation grant, Rudloff applied for a $2,500 grant from the Gannett Publishing Corporation and is in the preliminary stages of a NASA Student Launch grant request with the OMRON Foundation for $3,400.

Congratulations to Rick Rudloff, Helam Holbert, and Daniel Zhu for their success in this grant process.  We're excited to see what you design and build with the extra funds!
